What's the difference between The Organised Move and a removalist?
Removalists transport your belongings from one address to another. We manage the entire process — from pre-move decluttering and professional packing through to unpacking and fully setting up your new home so it’s organised and functional from day one. We often work alongside your removalist so everything runs smoothly.
What exactly is included in a full move service?
We handle everything – a pre-move consultation, professional decluttering, professional packing of your entire home, unpacking and professional organising incorporated in every unpack at no extra charge, setting up your new space to be functional with systems that make it easy to keep tidy and organised for your daily use.
Can I book just packing, or just unpacking?
Absolutely. We offer flexible service packages depending on what you need – whether that’s packing only, unpacking only, or full end-to-end management. We can work around your budget and create a personalised moving plan that incorporates your own contribution to the process.
Do you help with downsizing?
Yes. We work with clients who are downsizing – helping to sort, declutter and decide what comes with you, what goes to family, what gets donated and what can be let go. We also have extensive resources for donations, rubbish removal and rehoming of items. It’s a big process and we treat it with the care it deserves.
Do you work with seniors?
Yes, and it’s something we approach with particular care and patience. Whether it’s a move to a smaller home or into a retirement community, we make sure the process feels calm, manageable and completely supported.
Can I provide my own storage solutions and containers for professional organising?
Yes, absolutely – though we’d love to discuss your choices beforehand. The most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing options are not always the most practical and functional for everyday use. Eliana is well-versed in distinguishing what works beautifully long-term, and her guidance here can save you time, money and frustration down the track.
What areas outside Sydney do you service?
We’re based in Sydney but can discuss interstate and regional moves on a case-by-case basis. Get in touch and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking a minimum of 4 weeks in advance, especially during peak periods. That said, we do our best to accommodate urgent requests – reach out and we’ll see what we can do.
What happens after I get in touch?
We’ll have a quick conversation to understand your situation, then arrange a consultation – either in person or over the phone – to talk through your move in detail. From there we’ll put together a personalised quote and, once you’re ready to go, lock in your dates.
What if my moving date changes?
Life happens. Just let us know as early as possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate the change.
How many people will be on the day?
That depends on the size and complexity of your move. We’ll confirm exactly how many team members to expect following a physical site inspection – or based on photos and videos if an in-person inspection isn’t possible within your timeframe.
Do you supply packing materials?
We organise everything needed – boxes, wrapping, tape and packing supplies – either through your removalist or by arranging delivery directly. It’s all taken care of so you don’t have to think about it. If you’d prefer to organise materials yourself, we’re also happy to recommend trusted suppliers.
Is Eliana personally involved in every move?
Yes. Eliana personally oversees every single job and you’ll have direct contact with her throughout the entire process. As she is in high demand, early booking is strongly recommended to guarantee her physical presence on the day.
Are you insured?
Yes. We are fully insured. Your belongings are in safe hands throughout the entire process.
How do I know my things will be packed safely?
We treat every home and every belonging as if it were our own. Our team is trained in professional packing techniques to researched safety standards for transportation, and we specialise in high-end care for fragile, sentimental and high-value items.
